Building permits were issued last week for the construction of 5 3-story 6-flats on a large tract of vacant land at 3408 – 3434 N Milwaukee Ave. We’ve placed calls, but have been unable to determine whether the units will be for sale or for rent. When we stopped by on Friday there was no activity on the site.
Milwaukee Ave from Belmont to Addison is dominated by sites that appear to be ripe for redevelopment. The neighborhood, part of Irving Park, has been referred to as Polish Village and as South Old Irving Park. It has had a predominantly Latino population for years.

Joe, I had heard of some development sites on Milwaukee Ave through Logan Square that a developer wanted to build multiunits on this past summer, but then he went ahead and sold the parcels off.
I’m not sure if these would be the same sites or not. I know you said “Irving Park” so I could be way off geographically, but I know that sometimes these neighborhood names are used loosely which is why I threw that out there.
