At the Community Media Workshop’s annual Studs Terkel Media Awards, presided over by Studs himself, the Chicago legend waxed philosophical about the Internet and “glogs” (read blogs), a word he considers fit only for comics or speaking in tongues. But even Studs seems to realize the empowering possibilities of the Web for Chicago neighborhoods and nonprofits.
The awards ceremony concluded with a rousing rendition of “This Land is Your Land (video)” led by banjo master Chris Walz and Chicago Tribune columnists Eric Zorn and Mary Schmich.
