Touring South Shore with Jeff Heilbrunn, Part 3: Life on the lakefront

Thanks to the curve of Lake Michigan, residents of Chicago’s South Shore community get a view of downtown Chicago that North Siders can only dream of. In this segment from their drive through the South Shore community, Joe Askins of YoChicago.com and Builders Center of Chicago adviser Jeff Heilbrunn drive down Coles Avenue, located just one block west of the shore, and discuss the perks of living so close to the lake.

They eventually make their way to the northern border of the old USX steel-mill site, then turn north to Rainbow Beach, where Heilbrunn spent many summer days as a South Shore resident in the ’50s and ’60s.
