Two more developments from Ultimate Homes

Rendering of two-unit condo development at 1711 N Rockwell St in Logan Square, ChicagoAfter posting my findings on The Green Collection Wednesday, I spoke with Sergio & Banks Real Estate agent Melissa Govedarica about the collection of small, eco-friendly condo buildings in Wicker Park and Logan Square. Govedarica says developer Ultimate Homes is planning two more buildings that weren’t included in my first post.

One, planned for 1709 N Rockwell St in Logan Square, will be nearly identical to the two-unit building 1711 N Rockwell St. Ground broke on both of those buildings about four weeks ago, Govedarica says, and both are on track for completion in June. They will feature two three-bedroom / 2.5-bath duplexes priced from the $490s to the $540s. The duplex-ups in both buildings will have two-car garages, and the duplex-downs will have home theaters.

Govedarica says another three-unit condo building will be built at 903 N Honore St in the East Village. None of those homes – one three-bedroom / 2.5-bath duplex-down and two two-bedroom / two-bath, single-floor units – are listed yet, and Govedarica did not have pricing information for the development.

Both of these buildings, along with Ultimate Homes’ other developments at 3107 W Armitage Ave and 1747 W North Ave have received Chicago Green Homes certification from the city of Chicago, according to Govedarica. Some of the green design elements that these developments will share are ENERGY STAR-rated appliances, cellulose insulation, wood flooring from sustainable tree farms, and on-demand water heaters. Govedarica, who specializes in marketing green buildings, says these features are guaranteed to save residents money over time.
