Valentine Dinner Countdown Three

This is the third of a week’s worth of suggestions on where to take your honey on Valentine’s Day. We’re talking dinner here. (And yes, I realize that countdown’s usually count down.)

Suggestion: Spring, 2039 W. North Ave., 773-395-7100.

This minimalist, seafood-centric Wicker Park spot is a little slice of Zen under the L tracks. On Valentine’s Day chef Shawn McClain is offering the following feast for $65 per person: Maine lobster dumplings with salsify-vanilla froth; Jerusalem Artichoke soup with almonds & apple; Chilled Hearts of Palm with creamy Szechuan peppercorn dressing, and pickled papaya; Spiced Hapu`upu`u (Hawaiian Sea Bass) with baby bok choy, and Chinese black bean-garlic sauce; and Diver Sea Scallops with black truffle-parmesan gnocchi, and Japanese sake emulsion.

Dessert specials and chocolates follow.

Impress your honey with this fact: Spring is housed in a former bathhouse. A hot, steamy bathhouse. A sultry, saucy bathhouse. Etc., etc.
