YoChicago has a huge library of drive-around video shot on sunny days this past summer in north suburban and North Shore communities. I just tapped that library for a brief look at Valley Lo, a 60s and 70s-era development in Glenview.
Valley Lo is both a private club and a residential development built around a 38-acre lake that’s stocked with fish and allows non-motorized boating. It’s the kind of environment you probably didn’t know exists this close to Chicago.
Valley Lo includes several dozen single-family homes along the lakefront and several hundred townhomes. The single-families tend to sell for upwards of $1M, while the townhomes range from the mid-$200s to just over $500K. One single-family, a 4,500 square foot 4-bedroom, 4-bath with a deck and dock on the waterfront is currently listed for $1,299,000.
There are also rental apartments at the southern end of Valley Lo.
The Valley Lo Club has a short 18-hole golf course, a clubhouse with 5 dining options (2 of them seasonal), tennis courts, an indoor pool and a fitness room.
