When I recently asked architect / developer Jack Berger to compare his new development, Mondial, to another Chicago high-rise, he mentioned Skybridge. Berger cited architectural reasons for comparing the two, but now that I’ve been up on Mondial’s penthouse level, I’d say that one similarity the two high-rises share is that they both benefit from being the tallest buildings in each of their neighborhoods. SoNo (bottom, at left) is another development that shares the distinction of being the tallest building in the neighborhood.
It was unfortunate that we picked an overcast day to check out the views that Mondial has to offer, but in a way, those low clouds just make the skyline look more impressive. A few more photos showcasing the view from Mondial’s 12th floor are below, along with a couple of YoChicagoans enjoying the view with Berger.
