Visiting six new construction sites

A new 150,000 square foot Target store at the northwest corner of Division and Larrabee is slated to open later this year. An Oregon-based developer has acquired a site across the street for the construction of an 18-story, 240-unit apartment tower.

A new Plum Market grocery store and Intelligentsia Coffee opened last month in the 1225 Old Town apartment building.

Across the street from Plum Market, foundation work is underway at Scott and Wells for a 5-story building housing 71 apartments and ground-floor retail space.

Site clearance appears to be nearly complete for a 35-story, 367-unit apartment tower at the southeast corner of State and Chestnut.

Caisson drilling continues at the Madison on Racine, a 216-unit apartment project in the West Loop.

There was construction activity on July 4th at the site of the Studio Gang WMS Boathouse at Clark Park.
