Housing analyst Gail Lissner writes in this month’s New Homes Magazine that developers are holding back on downtown condo projects in light of the current, slower market. In the last month, we spotted only two new projects in the Greater Loop (Loop, South Loop, West Loop): 155 North Aberdeen and the newly announced One Chicago, from W Developments, LLC, planned for 111 N Sangamon.
Fittingly, the 64 condos at One will have one bedroom and one bath, with dens part of some floor plans. The loft-like units will have concrete ceilings of 9.5 feet, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances and Solid Surface countertops. Features of the 10-story building, designed by Hirsch Associates, LLC, will include four media lounges and indoor, climate-controlled parking.
Jameson Realty Group, which is marketing the project, lists prices from the $270s to the $360s.
