Wabash Club brings buyers to south South Loop

Wabash Club

We thought Dubin Residential was pushing it when the developer referred to its Wabash Club project as in the “South Loop.” The development includes 59 townhouses and 60 condos underway on Wabash between 23rd and 24th streets.

The neighborhood has pushed south in recent years as nondescript formerly industrial sites have gone residential, but 24th Street? Might as well call Pilsen the South Loop too, and while we’re at it, Bridgeport (Daley didn’t really switch neighborhoods when he moved to Central Station, did he?). Buyers, however, don’t seem overly concerned with labels at this project. They’ve taken all but seven of the townhouses, which have passed 75 percent sold in about half a year. Prices range from the $420s to the $520s, which is lower than similar South Loop product.
