If the question is posed the way it is in the headline, most consumers would immediately say “hell, no.”
A 30-year car loan is the net effect of buying into KLM Builders’ current marketing ploy: “Buy a KLM home, get a new car.”
Does this kind of an offer really move home buyers to purchase? Or is it merely a way to have a car dealer pick up part of the cost of a builder’s advertising?
While we’re on the subject of homebuilder incentives … I recently watched a builder’s sales rep, without missing a beat, tell a prospective buyer that the price of a unit would be discounted by $16,000 if the buyer didn’t take the “$35,000 value” free parking offer. The buyer didn’t react.
