Every once in a while we like to check in on one of Chicago’s most exclusive addresses, the eight-building landmark district of East Lake Shore Drive. This spring, we dished on a 7,549-square-foot condo that sold at The Mayfair Condominiums, 189 E Lake Shore Drive. Back then, the $8 million laid out for the pad was thought to be a record price for a Chicago condo (that’s before Vince Vaughn rolled into town). While the super-rich lamented the sale (and high-end brokers rejoiced), we also showed you a three-bedroom unit in the building, but now it appears that ship has sailed as well. The 4,700-square-foot Unit 1West, listed for $4.95 million by Baird & Warner, is under contract.
