We love lists: Woodlawn condos

Over the past several months, we’ve added several new condo developments located in Woodlawn to NewHomeNotebook.com. Yesterday I took stock of Woodlawn’s condos and compiled a list of new-construction and gut-rehab developments in the neighborhood.

Affordable housing is in good supply in Woodlawn, as five of the developments included in this list are participating in the city of Chicago’s Find Your Place in Chicago affordable housing program.

Like Hyde Park, Kenwood, and to a lesser degree, Washington Park, Woodlawn is closely linked to the University of Chicago campus, which is located on Woodlawn’s northern boundary. Although Woodlawn generally sits in the shadow of Hyde Park, its neighbor to the north, I found 18 new developments in Woodlawn and just eight in Hyde Park (although a couple of the Hyde Park developments, like Silver Cloud, are much larger than anything that’s currently available in Woodlawn.)

Woodlawn is bounded by 59th Street, 67th Street, Lake Shore Drive, and Martin Luther King Drive.
