The 56-story Park Place Tower at 655 W Irving Park Rd in Lake View rises to a height of 531 feet, making it the tallest building in Chicago north of the downtown area.
Built as a rental in 1971, and known at the time as Frontier Towers, it now houses 901 condo units and an extensive array of on-site amenities. The building was converted to condominiums in 2005, but there always seem to be a handful of units available for rent.
As of this writing available rentals include four 1-bedrooms priced from $1,550 to $1,800 and three 2-bedroom, 2-bath units renting for $2,000 to $2,300 a month.
Park Place Tower’s website has a detailed overview of the building’s policies and amenities.
