Readers of today’s Sun-Times may have been confused about David Roeder’s brief story on a development that was proposed for “the five-acre tract from 55th to 59th streets about two blocks west of Cicero.” Check the map: that would have put 212 condos and townhomes right in the middle of Midway Airport.
I’d like to live on a runway – or maybe in the terminal, near Midway’s fabulous food court. Alas, I’m out of luck. An earlier and more thorough Sun-Times story gives what must be the correct location, “from 55th to 59th streets about two block west of Central Avenue, which marks Midway’s western boundary” (my italics).
