Yesterday I mentioned that a large number of Irish are searching for information on Chicago apartments, something the Pirate attributes more to seasonal student visa programs than anything else.
Focusing only on stateside activity from the past 12 months through Google Insights for Search, the top five metro areas where searches for “Chicago apartments” originated — outside of Chicago, of course — were Indianapolis, Cleveland, Dallas, Washington, D.C., and St. Louis.
Narrowing Google Insights’ data down to searches most closely related to rental listings and referrals pretty much eliminates metro area data, but still reveals top activity by state. The top five states after Illinois where searches for “Chicago apartments” originated were Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Texas, and New Jersey.
Do Yo’all notice any new neighbors, clients, or coworkers arriving from these areas?
