And you thought your cubicle was small. RDM Development bills this 360-square-foot Gold Coast condo, at 1400 N Lake Shore Drive, as a one-bedroom one-bathroom unit. Judging by the floor plan, it looks like they meant that quite literally. They were being modest by not mentioning the closet, I guess. One has to wonder why they chose to call this a one-bedroom when 1400 N LSD has efficiency units that trump it by more than 100 square feet, and those include kitchens. Of its 398 units, the building has only three of these pint-sized pads, and one has already sold. The building also has two- and three-bedroom units of up to 1,540 square feet. Newly converted condos at the vintage 1920s building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, start in the $130s. I guess buyers should be happy to own anything on Lake Shore Drive for that price, and they can use the money they save on take-out.

This is pretty obviuosly an error on the part of whoever posted / created the floor plan. I don’t think RDM would be trying to sell a unit without a kitchen. And, the plan (PDF doc) doesn’t match the floor plate on the same page.
I would have preferred a direct link to the floor plan in addition to the general link to the building site.
I verified the floor plan’s accuracy with two people at the sales center. They only have three of these units (note updated post).

This is an I unit, which is a non-standard floor plan that we only have 3 of in the building. We have never marketed it is a 1 bedroom, as it is clearly a small efficiency unit. Since I run the marketing on this project, I can verify with 100% certainty that this has never been marketed as a 1 bedroom. And the unit is for sale for 119k… by far the lowest price in the Gold Coast. In the future please contact me before posting incorrect information on the site.
