Accoding to U.S. Census data available at Metro Chicago Information Center (MCIC), Chicago’s female population will drop from 1,490,909 in 2000 to 1,389,787 in 2010.
The male population — sorry, guys — will increase from 1,405,107 to 1,478,607 over the same 10-year period, leaving the city with only a small net loss in population.
The non-hispanic white population is projected to decrease sharply, from 850,702 in 2000 to 774,441 in 2010.
If you’re a stats junkie, you’ll want to register for a free MCIC account.
