Everyone in Wilmette knows Gillson Park and its broad, beautiful beach.
Wilmette has another gorgeous beach, at Langdon Park — sometimes referred to by the locals as Chestnut Park, after the street it adjoins to the east. Langdon lacks Gillson’s concession stand, and there’s no parking area at Langdon, two factors that help account for its relative obscurity.
