Wolf Point West apartments prepping for January occupancy

The weather was gloomy last Thursday when I headed for the roof of the new Wolf Point West apartment tower, and it was raining by the time I left.

The views from Wolf Point West’s iconic riverfront site, however, will brighten up any day. The panorama above was shot from the roof, where we didn’t linger due to strong wind conditions. The 46th floor fitness center will have this view.

We did pause for a brief look at some of the mechanical equipment that’s being installed at the rooftop level.

We wandered around the 46th floor to scope out the west and north views.

There will be a resident “sky lounge” on the north end of the 46th floor.

We descended to the 45th floor penthouse level, which will have large east-facing private terraces. Rent on this level starts at about $5,900 a month, and I’d speculate that the terrace apartments will lease very quickly.

First occupancies are currently targeted for January, 2016. Studio apartments at Wolf Point West, surprisingly, will start as low as about $1,700 a month.

A tier of apartments on the west side of the building has a balcony with a great view south along the river.

The southeast corner apartments have the sweeping river vistas that you see in the photo from the roof. They’re also a great vantage point for following the progress of two new office towers under construction on the west bank of the river, 150 North Riverside (pictured above) and River Point.

A second-floor river lounge and pool deck will bring residents a lot closer to the river.

The lounge and deck are likely to be popular spots on bridge lift days when the river fills with boats.

The expansive second-floor deck will have a large pool, and a hot tub the size of the pools at many high-rise buildings. Note the horizontal metal bar in the photo. It’s a purely decorative (and expensive) flourish that contributes to the building’s distinctive appearance.

Wolf Point West will be a high-service, pet-friendly, smoke-free building with many more amenities than sketched here.

Many thanks to Sherri Cuda, Director of Leasing for Magellan Development, for arranging my visit and guiding me around. Sherri is overseeing the lease-up of Wolf Point West, which is currently in a “soft launch” phase. She welcomes your questions at 312-440-8500 or via the inquiry form at the Wolf Point West site.
