Work begins on former Louie on the Park space at key Old Town Triangle location

Construction began Saturday on the former Louie on the Park bar and restaurant at the corner of Clark, Wells and Lincoln. A wooden super-structure (if that is the right word) was built around the exterior of the building, and then large sheets of plywood went up on the outside of the sructure. That all leads this intrepid reporter to believe that they are doing work on the windows.

The wooden structure even extends to former next door neighbor, Old Town Sundries, an overpriced defunct convenience store. Both former businesses had separate doors leading into the lobby of the hotel that rose above them, the former Days Inn now called the Gold Coast Hotel. Updates will follow, right here on the Yo.
