That’s the gimmick Akos Straub and his Jameson sales team are presenting at Marquee tonight. In a little under an hour, a tarot reader will be offering free readings at an open house event in Sedgwick Properties‘ 25-story high-rise at 1464 S Michigan Ave.
When Joe wrote about the development a couple of weeks ago, just 13 condos were still for sale, but there are also plenty of rental opportunities for the one- to three-bedroom units.
I am comfused with the massive price reduction. I went to their open house this Sunday and the prices were the same as they were 2 months ago.
Interesting. Last week, Akos Straub announced price reductions of $30,000 to $60,000 at Marquee on his blog.
I had meant to post something about this last week, but I guess it slipped my mind. Here’s what I had in my notes:
The $30,000 to $60,000 reductions were on a unit-by-unit basis, not across-the-board cuts. Straub said they picked some condos at random — typically less desirable tiers, or ones located on the middle or lower floors. Obviously the lower-priced homes received the smaller cuts, while the higher-priced ones saw the $60,000 cuts. (Straub said some buyers were wanting $60,000 off one-bedrooms, which is still a no-go for the developer.)
And although we’ve reported 13 homes for sale in the past (probably the number of Jameson-listed homes surfacing on the MLS), Straub says availability is closer to 20 homes.
Probably not that condo! The building is hideous, just like ‘Vision on State.’
