Yesterday’s McMansions become today’s mansions

It’s anachronistic to refer to a home built in the early 1900s as a McMansion.

There were no golden arches in 1906 when the home at 920 W Castlewood Terrace was built, but there were genuine mansions and this $899K, 3-bedroom, 3 ½ bath home wasn’t numbered among them. It’s the turn-of-the-last-century equivalent of today’s McMansions.

Will the current trend toward smaller homes result in today’s city and suburban McMansions being referred to as mansions 100 years from now?
