Didn’t have time to read everything on YoChicago last week? Here’s some of what you may have missed…
- Joe Zekas shared the first two videos from his wide-ranging Streeterville tour with Prudential Rubloff agent and Chicago Real Estate Expert Francesca Rose. Together, the duo checked out the view from the world’s highest grocery and met one of the city’s best doormen.
- We also introduced readers to Matt Garrison’s new Web site, CondoShark.com, and pulled out three samples of the kinds of “blood in the water” buys he lists there.
- It’s taken a while, but Astoria Tower in the South Loop is finally closing and delivering homes. Erik visited the high-rise with Sales Manager Jim Psyhogios and checked out its penthouse views, then followed up with a look at the tower’s new prices and incentives.
- Also ready for closings: Legacy at Millennium Park, which will see its first tomorrow.
- In the market for a two-bedroom / two-bath home, with a desire to live on the North or Far North Side near the lake? I checked out your options from low prices to high in three neighborhoods: Lake View, Uptown, and Edgewater.
- Erik and I also gave some overviews on other small markets: single-family deals on the South Side, condos and single-families in DePaul / Sheffield and Bucktown, and million-dollar homes in Logan Square.
- On the deals front, the South Side mixed-income development Eastgate Village announced price cuts as large as $100,000 on select condos.
- Looking at the rental market, Roosevelt Collection’s first phase is 70 percent leased and open for occupancy, Flair Tower gets a River North loft “faux-cade,” and renters looking for brand-new apartments in the heart of downtown have a choice to make: Aqua or Streeter Place?
- Joe introduced a new video series from East Pilsen, site of Belgravia Group’s Union Row. He talked to locals about the neighborhood’s evolution and the potential impact of the 2016 Olympics, then went out to get a look at the landmarked Schoenhofen Brewery and other scenes from the surrounding streets.
