It’s been less than 4 weeks since we launched YoRents, our online speed dating service for renters and landlords.
Renters can place a free apartment-wanted ad on YoRents that triggers an email to landlords who have apartments in their target neighborhoods, then relax and wait for an email response from the landlords who have apartments that meet their requirements. All communication takes place through the YoRents database, so renters can remain anonymous until they’re ready to take the next step.
Renters have been quick to take advantage of the concept. The site has attracted nearly 800 unique visitors, 117 of them just yesterday before 10 pm. Two hundred renters have signed up for YoRents. Those numbers are far above what we’d expected during these first few weeks.
YoChicago pre-qualifies the landlords who are allowed to participate in the system to ensure that renters won’t be spammed and won’t have to risk encountering a slumlord.
Landlords and property managers who have multi-family rental properties in lakefront neighborhoods from the South Loop north to Lake View can sign up and, if they pass our background screening, take advantage of a 90-day free trial offer.
