You still have a couple of days to head down to Daley Plaza in the Loop to pick up some authentic German gifts at Christkindlmarket. The traditional German-American holiday market has been going strong since late November, but things wrap up on Christmas Eve. There are more than 40 vendors at the market, selling German crafts like carved glass, wood etchings, puppets, hand-knit sweaters and jewelry. You can also gorge on Austrian strudel, bratwurst, schnitzel, potato pancakes and a spiced red wine called Glühwein. We’re betting there’ll be beer as well. And while you’re there, try to find out if Chicago has a Germantown.
