Zumper has a new design and spam apartment ads

Yesterday’s email brought “news” of “the brand new Zumper web platform.”

In its previous incarnation Zumper seemed to be nothing more than a garbage dump of deceptive rental service ads.

In its new incarnation Zumper strikes me as nothing more than a garbage dump of deceptive rental service ads with a more sophisticated search engine optimization strategy.

The use of actual addresses in many of Zumper’s ads ratchets up the odds that you’ll be deceived into thinking you’re contacting a property when you’re only reaching a rental service that may or may not have a relationship with the property.

If you’re a sucker who’d rather be spammed by rental services than be given honest information by properties, head for Zumper.
