Although this looks a tad Little House on the Prairie, or like something The Waltons would live in, it’s actually a rendering for Palatine Commons, a development of 76 new-construction townhomes, priced from the high-$300s, that allegedly is located close to downtown Palatine. Surprisingly – for Mary Ellen, anyway – the homes include a couple of urban loft-style features – high ceilings and exposed ductwork. The juxtaposition of the building’s exterior and neighborhood, with its interior, is a little jarring.
