There aren’t many developments – large or small – that we can say this about anymore, but it looks like Deming on the Green, Silverleaf Development’s planned 23-unit condo development at 416 W Deming Pl in Lincoln Park, is close to breaking ground. Coldwell Banker agent Danny O’Donoghue says about 35 percent (or eight) of the homes have been sold so far, and construction will begin once one or two more units are sold.
Of course, in this market, there’s no telling how long that might take.
Once construction begins, O’Donoghue says the six-story building could be completed in 12 to 15 months.
The eco-friendly development is designed by California-based firm Behnisch Architects, which specializes in green design. Architects are “chomping at the bit” to work on green buildings, O’Donoghue says, and he believes Behnisch is well equipped to meet the challenges of the development, which calls for a geothermal heating and cooling system.
Pricing for Deming on the Green’s one- to four-bedroom condos ranges from the $480s to $2.64 million. Price per square foot at the development runs from about $450 to $550, O’Donoghue says.
