New Old Town Triangle houses in $3M range will vary styles

Lincoln Park West Collection

The clutter of boards and buttresses at 1901—1911 N Lincoln Park West is on its way to becoming the Lincoln Park West Collection, a row of five luxury single-family homes in the sort of location developers – and buyers – drool over. The site is situated near the northern point of the Old Town Triangle, walking distance from Second City, the Lincoln Park Zoo, and Wells Street shops and restaurants.

Land in this corner of the neighborhood is about as rare as an independent Chicago alderman, so projects in the vicinity don’t come cheap – when they come at all. Builder Metropolitan Development Enterprises is selling the detached five- or six-bedroom houses for $2.59 million to $3.65 million. The homes will have the kind of high-end finishes you’d expect for that kind of dough – Wolf Ranges, Sub-Zero refrigerators, Waterworks fixtures, Tru Stile doors…

We couldn’t get our hands on a rendering to show you what these units will look like, but Koenig & Strey sales agent Emily Sachs Wong says that each will be “unique in its style and look.” Guess you don’t want to look like the Joneses when you’re shelling out a cool three mil for that new house. Of course, as you can see from the homes across the street in the above photo, that’s not the approach builders took a century ago with some of Old Town’s classiest rowhomes. Delivery on the Lincoln Park West Collection is planned for the first quarter of 2008. We’ll try to come up with a rendering well before then.
