We recently checked out a model “City Home” at The Arches at Oakwood Shores, a massive development underway in Bronzeville led by Granite Development Corp. The Arches will ultimately include 3,000 housing units on the site of three former CHA projects: the Madden Park Homes, Ida B. Wells Homes and Darrow Homes.
Tawnya McVicker, an agent with AtProperties, is marketing four City Homes – two-bedroom two-bath duplexes with hardwood floors downstairs and carpeting upstairs. A granite-topped island separates the kitchen from the living and dining areas.
Prices start at $274,900 for the units, which range from 1,350 to 1,433 square feet. Granite is currently offering a $5,000 incentive towards free furniture, McVicker said.
Granite head Joseph Williams told us Wednesday that 80 of the 130 for-sale homes in The Arches’ first phase are under contract.
