A single-family home alternative in the Southport Corridor, Part 1

Single-family homes in the popular Southport Corridor neighborhood typically start at $1M and range up from there.

Prudential Rubloff’s Karen McKeon showed me around what appears to be a viable alternative to the pricier single-families: a 4-story, 3 bedroom, 3 ½ bath, 2-car garage townhome at 3842 N. Southport, priced at $825,000.

The townhome opens off a locked, gated courtyard and is set far back from the street. Two bedrooms, including the master, are on the second level and the third is at the top level, with an adjacent deck. A ground-level family room could be used as a 4th bedroom or nanny’s room. The multiple levels make for a lot of privacy for different family members.

The home, priced at $825,000, is just north of the sought-after Blaine Elementary School, and in the heart of the Southport Corridor.

In this segment we look at the main living areas. We held our look at the balance of the home for better weather — to check the views from the top-level deck.
