Optima Old Orchard Woods is a stunningly detailed architectural feat. If you only drive past it on the Edens Expressway you’ll miss the impressive subtleties and fluidity of the design.
You’ll also miss the fact that, as of last weekend, 85 closings have already occurred in the 600-unit complex.
Last Sunday, when buyers for Wilmette new construction were as scarce as politically unaffiliated city employees, Optima Old Orchard Woods was drawing a crowd.
Fortunately for Optima, I’m apparently alone in the difficulties I’m having in thinking of the project as a residence. Try as I might I couldn’t overcome the feeling that I was in a corporate office park or hotel complex.
