Coinciding with the news today that yet another classic Chicago movie theater is closing–the Esquire on Oak Street in the Gold Coast–Chicago magazine’s latest issue (October) features a one-page photo/timeline story on Victory Gardens theater company, including its move into the legendary Biograph. Also in Chicago magazine, check out “Vital Signs,” a black and white-photo essay on old school Chicago marquees.
And while you’re at it, check out “Treasure Hunter,” a profile of Stuart Grannen, the guy who runs Architectural Artifacts.
And while you’re at that, check out a short piece called “Easy Being Green” featuring four eco-friendly building projects–the Hyatt Regency Chicago Riverfront Expansion and Exhibition Space, Pacific Garden Mission, Ford Calumet Environmental Center, and Greenworks Headquarters and Eco-Industrial Park–and an exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
