The sign touting “brand new” luxury rentals outside Eugenie Terrace is a bit disconcerting to anyone who remembers when the high-rise was built in the 1980s.
I checked in with the leasing office and learned that the building underwent an $18 million renovation of the common areas and units “in recent years.” The makeover did not include in-unit washers and dryers, which many assume is an essential component of “luxury” in Chicago high-rise rentals.
Jarring verbiage aside, at 1730 N Clark St Eugenie Terrace is in the kind of sought-after location – facing the southern end of Lincoln Park – that never gets old.
