We spotted another condo conversion in Hyde Park, and it’s a proud one at that. According to marketers Rubloff Residential Properties, the 20-unit Heritage on Drexel, located at 5219 S Drexel Ave, celebrates the “intellectual and medical heritages of the University of Chicago schools and hospital as well as the Museum of Science and Industry and the DuSable Museum.” The vintage courtyard building has been rehabbed with new thermopane windows, individual HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical systems. The brick has been tuckpointed and the lintels replaced. Condos have two or three bedrooms (some have dens), hardwood floors, in-unit washers and dryers, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Prices range from the $160s to the $350s.
