Lucas, YoChicago’s Johnny-on-the-spot in Wicker Park, has done a great job of keeping us up-to-date with the possibilites for development on North Avenue between Ashland and the interstate. Apparently, residents rejected a proposal for a McDonald’s (I join Lucas in saying “way to go neighbors!”), and a seven-story condo building will be added to the site. “Does this neighborhood really need more condos?” Lucas asks, adding, “Oh well, at least there will be parking.” The post generated a bit of controversy and debate over proper urban planning.
