Construction checkup: Legacy at Millennium Park

Legacy at Millennium Park

Mesa Development‘s new Loop high-rise loses a bit of its resemblance to a PlayStation 2 when seen from the corner of Monroe Street and Wabash Avenue. Its construction crew still has a long way to go before reaching the 72nd floor, so maybe the building will start to look more like its rendering as time goes on.

As I reported in June, the Legacy at Millennium Park is actually visible from Millennium Park now, and just 51 of its 356 units are still for sale, according to sales manager Adrian Hulse. Construction should end in a little more than a year.

Stokes wondered whether it was worth keeping the old facades along Wabash. I can’t say I’m too impressed with the way they look at the moment, because it’s just a little too obvious that the old buildings behind them are no longer there. I don’t mind fake buildings, but they should look real, right?

One-bedroom / one-bath homes at 60 E Monroe St start in the $430s, two-bedroom / two-bath homes start in the $640s, three-bedroom homes with family rooms start at about $2.6 million, and penthouses top out at around $4.2 million.
