We checked in yesterday on the construction at Legends South, the mixed-income development replacing the CHA’s Robert Taylor Homes. The project, from Michaels Development Co. and Brinshore Development, will bring 2,400 new homes to the blocks bounded by State, Federal, 40th and 55th streets, and scattered nearby sites.
The first on-site phase of about 180 rental units is under construction now, according to Kristyn Dunn of Coldwell Banker, which is marketing the project. An additional 35 for-sale homes will break ground in late summer, a little more than half of which are sold, she adds.
Prices at Legends South start in the $220s for condos, the $470s for single-family houses and the $550s for two-flat buildings.
