Construction update: Library Tower

Library Tower construction

Joe and I found ourselves in Printers Row soon after I posted the Library Tower sales update earlier this morning, so we walked over to the intersection of State and Harrison streets and took a few photos. From a concept vs. execution standpoint, this is one case in which the finished product far outshines the architect’s washed-out rendering. It also seems to fit in with its surroundings pretty well, both in terms of height and architectural style.

However, one thing that Joe and I noted while checking this building out is that it doesn’t exactly fit the billing of a “tower.” When I think of towers, I think of Eiffel and Sears, and even Trump, but they don’t all have to be quite so lofty. Most definitions of a tower specify that the building should be taller than it is wide, and it’s difficult to tell from this angle if that’s the case with Library Tower.
