The Chandler will only have its moment in the sun at Lakeshore East until the highly anticipated Aqua, now under construction, begins to rise, so we thought we’d take a closer look at the 35-story high-rise. The segmented glass facade on the north side of the building looks pretty acurate next to its rendering except for the obvious absence of the westernmost strip of balconies, which in the rendering spans the entire height of the building.
We’re also hoping there’s further work to be done on the eastern facade — the rendering shows red brick and windows running all the way down to the base of the building, but so far the first 12 or so floors of The Chandler are fronted by an unsightly wall of windowless concrete. The changes don’t seem to have hurt sales, though: only six units remain in the 304-unit development. Prices range from the $550s to $1.4 million.
