Open house preview: 3516 N Sheffield Ave

Click to enlargeWho’s seen that recurring bit on Late Night with Conan O’Brien called “If They Mated,” in which two celebrities’ photos are mashed together to create a hypothetical child? When I passed 3516 N Sheffield Ave earlier today, I wondered if a church had mated with a concrete condo building. And then I wondered if that offspring had in turn mated with a frame house.

That’s not exactly what happened, but hey, close enough. The building is a converted church with a concrete slab on the front and a courtyard on the side, surrounded by what looks like aluminum siding. A brick wall with domed windows open to the elements separates the courtyard from the adjacent parking lot.

Three units are for sale. @properties is marketing a two-bedroom one-bath condo with hardwood floors, granite counters and a stone bath for $344,900. Deeded garage parking is available for $30,000. An open house runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 12.

And Keller Williams Realty is marketing two two-bedroom one-bath units in the building, one for $349,900 and another for $344,900.
