Driving through Lakeview East

Zekas isn’t the only one who knows how to set up a tripod in a moving car. Mark and I are spending part of this week checking in on developments in Lake View, and we used the (relatively) sunny afternoon yesterday as an excuse to get out and around the neighborhood.

We spent some time winding around the streets of Lakeview East, the part of Lake View bounded by Diversey Avenue, Halsted and Addison streets, and Lake Michigan. In this first video, I talk a little bit about the Lakeview East’s demographics (using info I cribbed from the MCIC), and we eventually make our way to Hawthorne Place, home to some of the neighborhood’s last single-family homes.

A second part to our Lakeview East drive and some footage from our return to the Yo office via Lake Shore Drive and Streeterville will be up on our YouTube channel later today or early tomorrow.
