Claudia Laskowski needed more space. The Resurrection Medical Center nurse’s Lake View apartment “was tiny, and there was no parking and no storage.” With her boyfriend Jason moving to town, it was time to look for a new home, and that’s when her mother told her about the Lexington Park townhomes in Des Plaines.
“My mom lives in Des Plaines and drives past Lexington Park all the time, and on a whim she encouraged me to visit the community,” she said. “I looked at the models with my mom and then put down a deposit that very same day. I saw that I could have a brand new two- or three-bedroom home with a two-car garage for less than I would pay to rent in the city.”
In October, Claudia and Jason moved into a Coventry-style home with three bedrooms, 2.5-baths, and 1,913 square feet of living space. The home’s secondary bedrooms were perfect for guests and office space, they said, and its family room has become a “man cave” decked out with a surround-sound theater system and Jason’s favorite movie posters.
The location minimized Claudia and Jason’s commute times, thanks to the proximity of I-294 and the Metra line.

Even more buyers have chosen homes at Lexington Park since Claudia closed on hers. Many of the homes currently for sale at the development are just now being built, and are scheduled for delivery this summer. A second phase recently announced by Lexington Homes is slated to begin construction later this year.
Lexington Park is located at Western and Harding avenues, within walking distance of downtown Des Plaines and the Des Plaines Metra Station. The community offers three floor plans ranging from 1,605 to 1,913 square feet. Each three-story home has two or three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and attached two-car garages, and options allow for additional powder rooms.
The homes are base-priced from $239,990 to $259,990.
