Fountain Square: Evanston's answer to Times Square?

We’ve told you about developer Roszak / ADC’s proposal to build Evanston’s tallest high-rise and the North Shore’s first hotel condo project; now it looks like the new Fountain Square is shaping up as Evanston’s answer to Manhattan’s Times Square or London’s Piccadilly Circus.

Aaron Masliansky, a spokesman for Roszak / ADC, told us the developer was hoping to put up a giant video display on the front of the triangular portion of the building.

There is also talk of conducting a national competition to find a famous artist to design a new war memorial and a “sculpture plaza.” “We foresee it being a tourist destination,” said Masliansky. “It’s a special area already; we want to make it very special.”
