Another property I happened upon during my drive around town yesterday was Chantico South, the nine-home building Lipe Property Company is constructing immediately south of its sold-out Chantico Lofts conversion in Pilsen.
Few people want to buy a home off a floor plan alone, says Lipe’s Laura Knepper, which may explain why all of Chantico South’s units remain unsold. In an attempt to capitalize on the activity surrounding this weekend’s Fiesta del Sol, Lipe has scheduled its first open house for the project for this Sunday. Visitors will be able to tour the unfinished building at 1621 S Carpenter St from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Knepper says.
None of the homes have been built out yet, but buyers will at least get a feel for the units’ sizes and layouts, she says.
Chantico South has six different corner floor plans, from one-bedroom / one-bath single-floor units to three-bedroom / two-bath homes in duplex and single-floor layouts, with prices ranging from the $200s to the $470s. The homes should be finished by mid-autumn.
