Modesty prevails as Chicago high-rises draw the blinds on floor-to-ceiling windows

Ever wondered how all those high-rise dwellers get around the fact that their lovely floor-to-ceiling glass windows not only offer sweeping views of what’s outside, but also what’s inside, their condos? Kind of kills the mood in the bedroom and the bathroom, doesn’t it?

Well, it seems that developers are realizing there’s a downside (so to speak) to modern architecture, and they are starting to respond to prospective buyers’ concerns about lack of privacy. Enter the motorized window blind.

Yo hears that the quiet blinds now come as standard in the penthouses at several developments, including Trump International Hotel and Tower.

They are available as upgrades at Sutherland Pearsall Development Corporation’s 550 St Clair. When your windows are that tall, it sure beats drawing the blinds manually.

We also hear that the blinds can be integrated with timers, so that they close just in time to block out the blinding glare of sunset, or your emergence from the soaking tub.
