More new condos in Clybourn Corridor

1633 N Clybourn Ave

A recent post on the impact that a(nother) massive influx of retail in the Clybourn Corridor will have on housing developments in the area triggered heated comments ranging from Lee nicknaming the area “Little Schaumburg” to Devyn calling it “a tragedy in planning blunders” to Chach adopting this dubiously defeatist philosophy: “You’ve got to deal with the culture you have, not the culture you want.”

We realized we overlooked one of the more comely new-construction condo buildings on Clybourn, at 1633 N Clybourn Ave, so we thought we’d give you a look. The development has five simplex and duplex condos with two or three bedrooms, 1,500 to 1,800 square feet, 500- to 770-square-foot terraces and private elevator entrances. The ground-floor commercial space hosts a rug shop that somehow manages to do business without being “hostile to pedestrians,” which Lee accuses the nearby big-box stores and their expansive parking lots of doing.

Prices start in the $450s and garage parking, of course, is available.
