I worked across from the River Street Plaza construction site in a past life. We’d look out the windows at the office and wonder when the condos would open and (more importantly) who would want to live along one of the less impressive stretches of the otherwise becoming Fox River.
The last I checked, ground-floor retail at this development amounted to a coffee shop and a Jimmy Johns, which isn’t too bad compared to the rest of downtown Aurora, I suppose, but the city has a long way to go before it resembles a swanky hotspot. (“Like being on vacation everyday”? Really?)
So The Vanstrand Group is doing its best to attract buyers by offering interest rates as low as 3.75 percent per year, monthly payments as low as $910, and yes, a 2008 Mercedes-Benz with every condo purchase.
Three one-bedroom / one-bath homes and four two-bedroom / two-bath homes in River Street Plaza’s first 48-unit building are still available and ready for occupancy, with prices ranging from the $200s to the $350s. The cheapest new Benzes on the market start around $32,000, so buyers on the market for both new cars and new condos face a very tempting offer.
More condos are available in the development’s second building and should be ready for occupancy next month.
