Last month we told you about the announcement of Park 1000, a 40-story high-rise that Renaissant Development plans to build at 1000 S Michigan Ave. Like Astoria Tower, the Park 1000 will have a golf simulator, but the planned high-rise takes things a step further by including a “yoga / serenity room,” presumably for unwinding after a frustrating simulated nine holes. Anticipating residents’ various relaxation styles, we imagine this room will sport dim lighting, soft music and next to the yoga mats, a vat of J&B.
Other Park 1000 amenities include a fitness center with steam rooms, an event room with a full-service kitchen, a business center, a dry cleaner, 24-hour door staff and a landscaped rooftop park with a sundeck, pool and terrace. According to the Park 1000 Web site, “almost every” condo at the development will have a private terrace, balcony or solarium. There are 346 units in all, with one to three bedrooms, priced from the $280s to $3.6 million.
